ACADEMIC PROFILE

Maciej Litwin (PhD 2014, cognitive linguistics) joined Department of Translation, Institute of English Studies, in 2015 as an assistant professor. He has worked with undergraduate and graduate students of translation, as well as post-graduate students of English in international relations and business.

Since 2018 his academic work has focused on the problem of economy in translation theory.

Maciej Litwin has worked with Q1 journals as a book reviewer and a blind-review referee.

His work languages are Polish (A), English (B), French (C) and German (n/a). In his academic work he has also built on Greek (ancient and modern), Russian and Czech sources.

OTHER INFORMATION

Prior to joining the academia Maciej Litwin co-founded nd headed Wrocław Academic Hub, a municipal government-university-business platform (2008-2015).

He was the regional co-ordinator of OECD’s Review of Higher Education in Regional and City Development (2011-2013).

Maciej Litwin sat on the Mayor of Wrocław’s consultation board for education from 2010 to 2018.

From 2016 to 2018 he advised the Rector of University of Wrocław on implementing higher education reform provisions regarding university third mission.
