I come from south east England, from the county of Hertfordshire. I studied for my Batchelor’s degree in English Literature and Librarianship at Aberystwyth University in Wales and worked for some years in public libraries in north London and Buckinghamshire. After training as an English teacher in London, I moved to Poland to work in a private language school in Wrocław.  After a number of years there teaching Cambridge exam courses and fulfilling the role of Director of Studies, I moved to the Institute of English Studies of the University of Wrocław, where I have been working ever since. In 2010 I completed a Master’s degree in English literature with the Open University in the UK.

I work mostly with undergraduates on their practical English and in particular on Speaking Skills. I have also taught British Culture and an elective course on 21st century Hindi film. My main interests are in Post-colonial literature and travel writing as well as teaching methodology and developing students’ practical English skills. In my free time I enjoy music and travelling
