Marcin Tereszewski jest adiunktem w Zakładzie Literatury Angielskiej i Studiów Porównawczych, gdzie prowadzi zajęcia z literatury angielskiej i kultury brytyjskiej. W 2010 obronił pracę doktorską poświęconą roli ciszy i pustki w twórczości Samuela Beckett, która powstała pod kierownictem prof. Ewy Kębłowskiej-Ławniczak.  Jego zainteresowania naukowe koncentrują się wokół psychogeografii oraz literatury dystopijnej, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem twórczości J.G. Ballarda.

Od września 2024 Marcin Tereszewski pełni funkcję zastępcy dyrektora Instytutu Filologii Angielskiej ds. współpracy z otoczeniem. Jest również członkiem zarządu Polish Association for the Study of English (PASE).
